Why Netherbuilds?
Kem was always somewhat of an outcast and felt very misunderstood growing up, that drew him to the "Nethergundam". it had it's small dedicated fan-base of people who appreciated it's uhh.. bold design? Something about it being a windmill was the funniest thing to him, so he became the first real fully "custom build" made out of a RX-78-2 HG revive, pla-plate and a copious amount of epoxy putty. It was probably the first time he really felt like he had accomplished something.
Later Kem obtained his first resin printer and made a conversion kit in "Fusion 360" to fit "RX-78-2 HG revive". Wanting to sell them on Etsy a buddy of mine came up with the name "Netherbuilds", since we are from the Netherlands and his first real mark in the gunpla community was the Nethergundam kit. Everything worked out and it made him realize he was able to make whatever he wanted to.
What started the shop?
Netherbuilds is the creative name Kem has been using since 2018, 3 years after building his first kit. He is a Mechatronic engineer that likes to build gunpla and is based in the Netherlands (what a surprise). Kem always had a great interest in anything scale models related but was never ready to commit to traditional scale modeling. Gunpla introduced a world of posable push fit model kits, where the end result can vary from straight out of the box built to fully custom built. It became the stepping stone into the world of scale modeling, with every kit built he became more eager to add his own flair and modifications.
A fateful encounter happened in 2021 when Kem met his partner Linny while he was still studying, she already had a the basics running for her bespoke corsetry & costumes. Soon after in 2024 we both got a big hit from long Covid witch we are still recovering from. When Kem was unable to build models for long periods due to long Covid his CAD modeling skills came in very handy, through testing of what worked with his current energy pool he made something that worked. By combining our skills we build the Netherbuilds hobby product line, Kem designs every product in CAD and manages the printers while Linny manages the webshop, graphic designs and the numbers.
Having your hobby taken away due to health complications is a terrible thing, we hope to help many others who might be in the same boat as we are. Kem even won the "CBWC 2nd place category: Europe & Middle East" title in 2025 with the build he customized on the couch with a Pla-Station.

Hi! My name is Kem, generally chaotic lawful I have a wide variety of interests within the scope of creative expression, engineering and design.
I'm the creator and owner of Netherbuilds, starting out as a Facebook page revolved around gunpla and creative endeavors. In my 3d printing grind I developed a conversion gunpla kit. I love trying new things, new ideas and apply at least one new thing in every project I manage.
Gunpla is my main passion, making tiny mobile suits and fabricating tiny parts to add personal flair.
I design all products that you see in the Netherbuilds webshop.

Hello, I'm Linny. I’m a free spirit that loves to be creative.
At Netherbuilds I mostly do stuff behind the scenes, I'm in charge of the website, photo edits & marketing materials. I will also help at most conventions and manages the stock.
Aside from Netherbuilds I got my own thing going. I'm a seamstress with over 20 years of experience and a huge love for bespoke corsets. For more about that check out my social links.
