Mastergrade is just a mindset 😎 With a few chisel Mastergrade is just a mindset 😎 With a few chisels and patience you too can transform a HG part into something unique! scribing helps seperation panels, creating depth and making masking/painting easier! The sizes i use here are: 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5mm for my lines/notches and i use a wide chisels for my chamfering, they are 3 and 5mm Like what you see? go over to @madworks_eu for their scribing chisels because they go through plastic like butter! be careful however as sharp tools lead to going through parts with ease. Here is how to scribe and mirror a zigzag! to mir Here is how to scribe and mirror a zigzag! to mirror an existing zigzag, measure the corners of the zigzag from a repeating reference point and mark these on the other size of the part. from these marks we can trace a line going through them with a hobby knife that acts as a guiding groove. once you can start scribing, push towards the corners to widen the starting groove and lightly drag it from the corner to deepen the panel line. many hobbyists try to trace a zigzag in one go but this will soften the corners and make the zigzag look sloppy. working from point to point is most ideal if you want a sharper looking result. and thats it! the basics of a zigzag. from this point you can widen any lines or add more detail but every line i place someway starts out like this and later gets refined. if youre looking for high quality panel line scribers in the EU @madworks_eu is the way to go! they carry a very wide range of scribing chisels and are all guaranteed to be sharp! this sharpness will really make the difference in the final finish. generally this also reduces the amount of passes you need to make to define a panel line, so make sure your tools are sharp! 👌👌
Recently ive obtained a new set of scribers and it Recently ive obtained a new set of scribers and its time to put them to the test! You can cut a scribing stencil from most stickers given you have the patience to cut it out by hand and tracing it onto plastic. in this case i made a stencil from the @madworks_eu logo since these are their scribers after all 👀 Starting with a hobby blade, tracing the outer profile allows for a guiding grove for the first scribing step. using calibrated scribing tape as a reference for straight and parallel lines we can scribe along the traced profile with a .1mm scriber to validate the work. starting with a smaller scriber saves you time during the cleaning process and the end result much cleaner. Stepping up to a 0.2mm scriber makes the end result much bolder then the 0.1mm. its important to keep the tool perpendicular to the piece! because if you dont, the error angle will be visible in the final result. Chamfering edges of panel lines is something ive started doing recently to add more depth to my scribing work. to achieve this, hold a wide chisel 45° on one side of the panel line and slowly chip away until you have the desired effect. staying consistent here is key! try practicing this step on spare pieces before fully committing to the mod, this goes for basically all steps previously mentioned aswell. I left the original zeon detail alone to display the impact of difference in depth of surface detail. i hope this helped! a huge thank you to Madworks europe for providing me with the tools to make this guide! be sure to check their huge assortment of scribers, chisels and anything hobby related! i'll also be altering the rest of this HG geara doga over time and give it a full custom paint job once its finished so stay tuned for more mods! #gundam #gunpla #ガンプラ #madworks

No problem! ikea has these new "gaming trolley" and i wanted to check out how my pla-station and all fit with the layout. turns out, surprisingly well! sadly the sides arent actual skadis boards but i found a way to make it work. this table ended up serving a different purpose but i will get another one in the future to make a more workable station, this is just a proof of concept 👀 #gunpla #ikea
