HG Geara doga Version: "MAD" - (6 months of work) HG Geara doga Version: "MAD" - (6 months of work) Now that i reached the 50% mark on this build its time for the milestone showcase! this build serves as a demonstration of how far you can push a stock HG with just some scribers. at this point no filler, panel liner or pla-plate has been used yet to get a good comparison. these will be used to finish the model but personally, designing the scribing patterns is what takes the most time. once i have my design planned out, scribing it is no issue. Here is a small breakdown of my scribing process: Pencil: Before i start i sand the surface so i can draw on it with a pencil and sketch out my design. Hobby knife: Once i have a design i trace it with the hobby knife to create a guiding groove for the next step. using the length of the blade helps putting down straight lines. for curves i recommend tracing it with the point of the knife. Needle line engraver(0mm): The 0mm point bit is used tracing all of the blunt details and previously cut grooves to create the starting point of your scribe work. push and pull the point at an angle to trace a line or force a pathway for the next chisel. Scribers (size 0.1-0.5mm): I always start with the smallest size that i have and slowly work my way up through the sizes. i use a variety of chisel types like the tungsten and DLC chisels from @madworks_eu the main difference between them is that the DLC chisels are more flexible, making it more suitable for curves and complex designs and the tungsten chisels are extremely stiff making them perfect to lay down tight straight lines. Wide chisels (size 1, 3 and 5mm): The wide chisels are for both heavy duty plastic removal and planing/leveling surfaces. these help me create those custom vents on the legs and skirt. Pla-Station: Its the buildstation you see in this reel! i use this station to hold my tools and parts while also catching and separating the dust/waste from your work! you can find it on my website! Which side do you prefer? 🤔🤔 One side is left unt Which side do you prefer? 🤔🤔 One side is left untouched while the other one has been heavily modified with @madworks_eu scribers! while this is pretty much 50% so far i will make a full video of this build on a rotary platform. but i need to clear out my photography corner for that 😅 i havent used any fillers yet, i will do so once ive scribed the entirety of the kit. ive been slowly working at it on my pla-station while i recover on the couch so im happy with how far i got. you can find the link to the station in my bio! i also have a lot of things in the works, revising a lot of models and optimizing for the new printer. its all a bit chaotic but still very exciting so stay tuned!! #gundam #gunpla #madworks #pla-station #scribing
Here's a little progress post on the madworks HG g Here's a little progress post on the madworks HG geara doga. the difference in parts that have been untouched and altered. this still doesnt include any putty, i plan on fixing my mistakes after ive scribed the entirety of the kit. working on a lot at the moment behind the scenes so keep an eye on my stories if you want to stay informed. thats where i share the more experimental side of the scribing. ofcourse if youre looking for scribers go check out @madworks_eu !!! anything you see here is scribed using their scribers with a variety of thicknesses.

They might be small but they amp up your scribing game to the next level: notches! adding small notches or similar details at the end of your corners makes the shape of the body panels make more sense. i still have to mirror all these notches but it made for a fun comparison. my scribers are from @madworks_eu and leave a very clean finish as you can see from the example above! 😎 so if youre in the market for new tools, check them out! #gundam #gunpla #scribing #madworks

Or atleast normalize building with friends! today i finished the MGSD barbatos at the local buildday and it was a blast! a buildday for me is when the community feeling comes alive and everyone shares a bit of info on their kit or we get to be excited for future releases. To make life easier for myself and those around me i use my own developed building station i call the pla-station and this keeps most of my junk away from my fellow builders and my parts close to me. combine these with my home made sprue clips and im saving table space so more people can sit at the table. i think the true experience of pocked gunpla is building it wherever you like without leaving a pile of nubs or junk. be a good gunpla builder and be mindful of your surroundings aswell as the people around you so we can all enjoy this hobby together! if you want a pla-station of your own check out my website! link in bio, the transparent blue one in the video has yet to get a official release but i liked it so much i couldnt stop using it 🤣 so stay tuned for when the product photos are done and when its posted on the website. #gunpla #gundam #pla-station
